Purpose/Question

The objective of the authors was to compare the proportions of placed fissure-sealed second permanent molars of 12- to 14-year-olds by attending dentists exposed to 2 intervention strategies. Separately and combined the provision of a fee for placement and a 1-day educational workshop on evidence-based practice were introduced and compared with a control.

Government: The ERUPT study was funded by the Chief Scientist Office, Scottish Executive, and the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council. The Dental Health Services Research Unit and the Health Services Research Unit receive Scottish Executive core funding.
